I am excited to share this gorgeous house overlooking the Atlantic Ocean located in Watch Hill, Rhode Island! After owning the property for many years, our client decided it was time to breathe new life into their nineteenth century house. Working with architect Oliver Cope’s office, we wanted to reinvigorate home with a feeling of freshness and timelessness.
In the living room room, new doors and additional windows brightened the space. A new color palette of calming blues, grays, beiges and creams were used throughout the house to unite the spaces and make connections to the water and sky outside. A more thoughtful floor plan allows our clients to use the space more fluidly to entertain, relax, and host friends.
Comfort was of primary importance in the family room. The outdated, uncomfortable furnishings were replaced with a cozy chenille sectional, a leather ottoman, and game table. The ombre glass pendant adds a delicate element.
In the bedroom, we flipped the orientation of the bed to create a seating area by the windows. We removed the built-ins and expanded the doors to the deck for a more open, airier feeling. New wallpaper, moldings, and drapery add clean lines and character to the room.
White paint on the deck off the master bedroom replaced the dark, paneled surfaces. Enlarging the window openings lets more light into the space and offers better views of the ocean. Comfortable furnishings and a fan make the space the perfect place to spend quiet mornings or watch the sunset.
